18th C. Tape Loom on Stand
An exceptional 18th or early 19th century tape loom on a hand carved stand. An important part of the history of American textiles, tape looms were used to make the hand loomed tapes we see as ties on mattress covers, pillows, as borders on textiles etc. This one has a wonderful sculptural presence. From the estate of Peter Benchley.
