Early Paper Top Hat

One of my most treasured items that has ever passed through my hands. A perhaps 18th century or very early 19th century paper top hat having a hand loomed tape band and feather, as well as remnants of fringe or binding around the rim. Although I am not certain what it was used for, I imagine it was actually worn. This piece has an old museum sticker and has been in the same collection for half a century until 2022. It has personality and life force all it's own!
